As reported by Economy Middle East, the UAE Ministry of Investment and Brazil’s Ministry of Mines and Energy sealed the deal, with Sheikh Khaled emphasizing the UAE’s commitment to building stronger ties with Brazil. The meeting, reported by the Abu Dhabi Media Office, aligns with the outcomes of Sheikh Khaled’s official visit to Brazil last November, where discussions with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva centered on clean energy, mineral exploration, and sustainable investments.

This new agreement aims to foster joint efforts in areas such as exploration, development, processing, and marketing within the mining sector. It also highlights collaboration in advanced technologies, research, and workforce training in technical fields, aiming to boost innovation and sustainability in both nations.

Economic relations between the UAE and Brazil remain robust, with the UAE holding the position of Brazil’s second-largest trade partner in the Middle East. Non-oil trade between the two countries exceeded $2.64 billion in the first half of 2024, further underscoring the importance of initiatives like this MoU.

The meeting also included discussions on expanding strategic partnerships in critical sectors like energy and mining, with a focus on sharing expertise and adopting modern technologies. Both nations see this collaboration as a way to drive comprehensive development and economic prosperity.

UAE Minister of Investment, His Excellency Mohamed Hassan Alsuwaidi, remarked on the strength of the bilateral partnership, highlighting the MoU as a milestone in sustainable growth and the global energy transition. Meanwhile, Brazil’s Minister Alexandre Silveira echoed the shared vision for advancing energy transition and responsible resource management.

High-ranking officials, including UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure His Excellency Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei and UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation Her Excellency Reem Al Hashimy, were also present at the meeting, further emphasizing the strategic importance of this agreement.

This partnership is expected to deliver long-term benefits for both nations, advancing shared goals in sustainability, innovation, and economic development.
