Sharjah Updates Fees for Impounded Vehicle Release

Sharjah has introduced a decision revising the fees for releasing vehicles impounded due to serious traffic violations. This applies to all vehicle types and aims to address cases involving offences like reckless driving and negligence, which endanger public safety and property. Although the updated fees have not been disclosed, the decision aims to streamline the process of returning vehicles once the legal impoundment period is over.

The announcement was made during the Sharjah Executive Council meeting, led by Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council, was also in attendance.

The Council further reviewed plans to boost the emirate’s financial sector by strengthening legal frameworks, which are expected to support Sharjah’s economic growth in key areas.

Additionally, the Council discussed initiatives to promote environmental sustainability. These include efforts to reduce the use of single-use plastics and encourage innovative practices within the community. The council reaffirmed their commitment to preserving health and environmental standards, highlighting the importance of community participation in achieving these goals.
