“I am pleased to confirm the 6th round of Iran US talks will be held in Muscat this Sunday the 15th,” Al-Busaidi stated. This confirmation comes after Iran had indicated for days that talks would take place, although Oman, acting as the mediator, had not previously confirmed the details.
Tensions in the region have been escalating, with the U.S. reducing the number of staff members not deemed essential to operations in the Middle East, along with their families, due to concerns over potential unrest. There has been no immediate comment from the U.S. government regarding the upcoming negotiations.
