UAE President and Montenegrin Prime Minister Strengthen Bilateral Relations with New Agreements

ABU DHABI: His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, welcomed Milojko Spajić, the Prime Minister of Montenegro, during his working visit to the United Arab Emirates. The meeting took place at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, where Sheikh Mohamed expressed his hopes that this visit would enhance the growing ties between the UAE and Montenegro.

Prime Minister Spajić conveyed greetings from President Jakov Milatović of Montenegro, offering his best wishes for the UAE’s ongoing progress and prosperity. The two leaders discussed various opportunities to strengthen cooperation, focusing on priority development sectors such as the economy, trade, renewable energy, food security, and infrastructure. Their discussions aimed to foster sustainable economic growth in both nations.

In addition to economic matters, Sheikh Mohamed and Spajić exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual concern. They stressed the importance of promoting peace, stability, and conflict resolution through diplomatic means at both regional and global levels, which they believe is essential for supporting development and prosperity for all.

Sheikh Mohamed reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to enhancing development partnerships with countries in the Balkans, including Montenegro. He highlighted the UAE’s significant investments in Montenegro, particularly in renewable energy, food security, and infrastructure, and reiterated support for initiatives that contribute to peace and regional stability.

Prime Minister Spajić expressed gratitude for the warm welcome from Sheikh Mohamed and emphasized Montenegro’s eagerness to strengthen its relations with the UAE. He highlighted the importance of leveraging available opportunities to enhance bilateral ties between the two nations.

During the meeting, Sheikh Mohamed witnessed the signing of two bilateral agreements focused on the fields of economy and tourism. The agreements were signed by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs for the UAE, and Milojko Spajić, Prime Minister of Montenegro.

Also in attendance were Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs, Reem Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation, and other senior officials. The Montenegrin delegation included several ministers and senior officials who accompanied Prime Minister Spajić.
