UAE and Bahrain Strengthen Infrastructure Cooperation

On February 6, 2025, Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, met with Ebrahim bin Hasan Al Hawaj, Bahrain’s Minister of Works, to discuss enhancing collaboration between the two nations in infrastructure, transport, and climate action. The meeting took place at the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) headquarters in Abu Dhabi. Al Mazrouei emphasized the strong ties between the UAE and Bahrain, expressing the UAE’s commitment to furthering cooperation as guided by the country’s leadership.

Al Mazrouei described the meeting as a significant opportunity to foster collaboration for the future. He stated that such visits build upon the long-standing bilateral relations, highlighting the UAE’s eagerness to share experiences with their Bahraini counterparts. This sentiment underscores the UAE’s proactive role in regional partnerships, particularly in critical sectors like infrastructure and climate initiatives.

Hassan Mohamed Al Mansoori, the Undersecretary for Infrastructure and Transport Affairs at MoEI, welcomed Minister Al Hawaj to the Ministry’s headquarters in Dubai. The visit focused on sharing MoEI’s best practices in planning and constructing infrastructure projects and federal roads, along with efforts to reduce bureaucratic obstacles in these processes. Al Mansoori noted that these meetings are essential for identifying common priorities and exploring collaborative opportunities to expedite progress toward shared goals.

During the discussions, the Bahraini Minister received updates on MoEI’s latest initiatives and projects, including asset management protocols and traffic safety measures. The exchange of ideas and strategies aims to strengthen the partnership and drive advancements in infrastructure development between the two nations.
