A high-level UAE delegation, led by Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure and Special Envoy of H.H. the Minister of Foreign Affairs, recently visited Indonesia to discuss ways to deepen cooperation between the two nations. The official visit, which took place from January 29 to February 1, aimed to strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership across various sectors.

During the trip, Al Mazrouei met with Indonesia’s President Prabowo Subianto in Jakarta, delivering greetings and well-wishes from the UAE’s leadership, including President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The discussions revolved around enhancing bilateral cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, culture, and investment. Both sides expressed a commitment to advancing joint agreements and accelerating the approval of new ventures.
The UAE delegation also held talks with several senior Indonesian officials, including Agus Harimurti, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, and Sugiono, Minister of Foreign Affairs. These meetings explored progress in joint projects and identified new opportunities in sectors like renewable energy, aviation, logistics, and housing.
A key highlight of the visit was the third UAE-Indonesia roundtable meeting, chaired by Al Mazrouei and Indonesia’s Foreign Minister Sugiono. The event, organised by the UAE Embassy in Jakarta, brought together ministers, CEOs, and representatives from leading Emirati and Indonesian companies such as Etihad Airways, Abu Dhabi Ports, and Indonesia Investment Authority. Discussions focused on fostering investment in priority sectors, including energy, food security, defense, and education, while addressing challenges faced by UAE companies in Indonesia.
The visit concluded with additional meetings with high-ranking Indonesian officials, including Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Chairman of the National Economic Council, and Airlangga Hartarto, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs. These discussions reaffirmed the UAE’s dedication to strengthening ties in critical areas such as food security, energy, transportation, and logistics.
The visit marked another step forward in the UAE and Indonesia’s growing partnership, reflecting the shared vision of their leaderships for closer collaboration.
