UAE and Hungary Strengthen Bilateral Ties Through New Agreements

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed Viktor Orbán, the Prime Minister of Hungary, on Wednesday during his official visit to the UAE. The meeting took place at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, where both leaders discussed enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation, particularly in areas such as economic development, trade, investment, technology, infrastructure, and renewable energy.

During their discussions, they emphasized the importance of fostering sustainable development in both nations, aiming to meet the aspirations of their peoples for continued progress and prosperity. Sheikh Mohamed reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties, highlighting the significance of collaboration in economic, trade, investment, and renewable energy sectors, which are vital for the development of both countries.

The UAE leader noted the critical role of the UAE-Hungary Joint Economic Committee and the Political Consultations Committee in promoting these relations. Prime Minister Orbán expressed Hungary’s eagerness to bolster ties with the UAE, sharing the common goal of fostering economic growth and prosperity for both nations.

In a significant development, Sheikh Mohamed and Viktor Orbán witnessed the announcement of memoranda of understanding and agreements in various fields, including education, investment, and renewable energy development. These agreements are aimed at broadening the scope of cooperation between the two countries.

The memoranda were exchanged by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Péter Szijjártó, Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The meeting was attended by senior officials and diplomats from both nations, underscoring the importance of this diplomatic engagement.
