The Dubai Media Office shared that under the directives of Hamdan bin Mohammed, the Executive Council has approved the ‘Dubai Orchestra’ project. The project’s goals include reinforcing Dubai’s status as a global cultural hub and incubator for creativity while also boosting the efficiency of the city’s arts sector.

The ambitious project outlines several objectives for the coming years, with a target of having 50 percent of orchestra members be Emirati talent by 2033. To achieve this, the initiative plans to attract exceptional talent, inspire and empower homegrown creatives, and stimulate the growth of the arts sector. Additionally, it will nurture a creative environment that advances the local music scene and supports Dubai’s Creative Economy Strategy and the Dubai Social Agenda 33.

To ensure these goals are met, the project will introduce new youth-focused music programs and establish partnerships with community organizations throughout the city. It aims to create educational opportunities for promising and emerging talent, while also promoting the UAE’s musical heritage on stages around the world.
