Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) has successfully completed a multi-city business mission across China, enhancing its position in promoting UAE-China trade and investment relations. The delegation participated in key events, including the UAE-China (Sichuan) Economic & Trade Cooperation Promotion Conference, held by the Embassy of the UAE in Beijing, and the Invest UAE Roadshow in Guangzhou, which was led by the UAE Ministry of Investment.

These events united senior officials, business leaders, and investors to discuss cooperation in various sectors, including energy, logistics, technology, healthcare, and green energy. Through these engagements, RAKEZ deepened its dialogue with Chinese stakeholders, showcased the business potential of Ras Al Khaimah, and strengthened economic ties with an essential international market.
RAKEZ Group CEO Ramy Jallad emphasized the strategic importance of the Chinese market, stating, “China is a market of great strategic importance to us. Our continuous engagement across several provinces is part of a broader mission to foster resilient, future-focused partnerships.” He highlighted that RAKEZ serves as a trusted platform for Chinese enterprises, enabling them to establish, innovate, and thrive globally.
During the Invest UAE Roadshow, RAKEZ Chief Commercial Officer Anas Hijjawi participated in a panel discussing the UAE’s role as a manufacturing hub for Chinese companies looking to expand internationally. Hijjawi outlined RAKEZ’s dual-track industrial strategy, which focuses on traditional manufacturing sectors like metal processing and chemicals, crucial to Ras Al Khaimah’s industrial landscape.
To build on this momentum, RAKEZ has attracted interest from the Chinese business community with its collaborative and flexible approach, co-developing infrastructure and services tailored to each project’s unique objectives. This strategy has led to the establishment of long-term relationships with over 200 Chinese enterprises in various sectors, including LED lighting and packaging. Notable companies such as China State Construction and Metally Industries have chosen RAKEZ for their regional operations.
RAKEZ supports these businesses with streamlined licensing, scalable warehousing and industrial space, and visa facilitation to accelerate setup and encourage long-term growth.
The economic zone’s initiatives align with the UAE’s broader role as a major trade partner for China. As China’s largest commercial partner in the Arab world, the UAE acts as a vital re-export hub, facilitating around 60 percent of Chinese trade to over 400 cities in the MENA region.
Collaboration with leading Chinese industrial entities and development zones, such as the Tianjin Pilot Free Trade Zone and Foshan Commerce Bureau, further underscores the depth of RAKEZ’s engagement. Regular outreach and roadshows in key cities like Shenzhen and Guangzhou strengthen these relationships.
RAKEZ is committed to fostering growth in next-generation sectors, including electric mobility and agri-tech. Its industrial ecosystem, supported by sector-focused infrastructure and investor-friendly policies, is well-positioned to assist Chinese businesses aiming for international expansion and long-term regional relevance.
