The company has purchased the New South Wales branch of Roberts Co., a Tier-1 construction firm known for its extensive experience across various sectors. In August of last year, Arada confirmed its first overseas projects, committing to the development of more than 2 000 homes in Sydney. The acquisition of Roberts Co. aligns well with Arada’s strategic goals in Australia, particularly its focus on the Sydney market. The company is on track to initiate sales and construction for its first Australian projects by the end of 2025.

Arada is prepared to invest up to Dh235 million in Roberts Co.’s expansion into new sectors and geographies, aiming to establish a global presence and achieve annual revenues of Dh2.3 billion by 2028. Ahmed Alkhoshaibi, the Group CEO of Arada, emphasized that this acquisition will enable the company to deliver future projects in Australia with greater control, cost efficiencies, and reduced risk.

The acquisition also ensures uninterrupted progress on four ongoing construction projects in Sydney, which include two schools, a residential development, and a children’s hospital. These projects are considered critical for the state’s infrastructure. As part of the transition, key members of the Roberts Co. leadership team, including Executive Chairman George Kostas, will continue in their roles to maintain continuity and stability. Arada has also announced plans for Dh6 billion in developments in Australia, which will encompass major new communities in Sydney’s inner-west, south-west, and Hills Shire suburbs, collectively delivering 2 500 homes.
