The Dubai Chamber of Commerce has successfully organized 252 bilateral business meetings between companies from Dubai and Angola in Luanda, the capital of Angola. This event was part of the chamber’s trade mission to Angola and Mozambique, which is under the ‘New Horizons’ initiative aimed at supporting the international growth of Dubai-based companies by unlocking opportunities in promising global markets.

Representatives from 20 Dubai-based private sector companies participated in the trade mission, spanning a range of industries such as agriculture, construction and building materials, electronics, energy and petrochemicals, engineering, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), food and beverages, information technology, manufacturing, maritime and shipping services, metallurgical industries, real estate, retail, and supply chain and logistics.
As part of the mission, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce held a business forum named ‘Doing Business with Angola,’ which was supported by the UAE Embassy in Luanda and various Angolan ministries and organizations, including Angola’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Angola (CCIA), and the Agency of Investment and Export Promotion (AIPEX).
During the forum, a keynote speech was delivered on behalf of H.E. Rui Miguêns de Oliveira, Minister of Industry and Commerce of Angola, by Antonio Mikotene Domingos, the National Director of Integration and Economic Development at the Ministry. Additionally, speeches were made by H.E. Salem Ali Al Shamsi, the UAE Ambassador to Angola, and H.E. Eng. Vicente Soares, President of the CCIA. The event drew in 416 participants, including senior officials and business leaders, who expressed interest in exploring partnership opportunities with the Dubai delegation.
H.E. Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, emphasized the organization’s commitment to fostering trade and investment cooperation between Dubai and other nations. He stated that the trade mission reveals new opportunities for Dubai companies looking to expand into vital markets like Angola, ultimately enhancing the competitiveness of the local business community and contributing to the growth of Dubai’s non-oil foreign trade.
In 2024, the value of non-oil trade between Dubai and Angola reached AED 7.8 billion, marking a 3.3% increase from AED 7.6 billion in the previous year. By the end of the first quarter of 2025, 72 Angolan companies were registered as active members of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce.
Salem Al Shamsi, Vice President of International Relations at Dubai Chambers, provided an extensive overview of Dubai’s economic landscape during the forum and highlighted the emirate’s competitive advantages for investors. A discussion session also took place, featuring Jerónimo Nunda Pongolola, a Board Member at AIPEX, who discussed Angola’s economic environment and investment strategies for Dubai companies seeking to establish and expand their presence in Angola.
The Dubai Chamber has identified several high-potential export products from Dubai to Angola, including cell phones, textiles, aluminum plates, pharmaceuticals, rice, and perfumes. Additionally, key investment opportunities for Dubai-based companies in Angola include offshore oil and gas technologies, airport management, marine technologies, health services, and infrastructure projects such as aviation and rail transport.
