The Sharjah Cyber Security Center, part of the Sharjah Digital Department (SDD), has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Fortinet Inc., a leading global cybersecurity solutions provider based in the United States. This partnership aims to strengthen the cybersecurity ecosystem in the Emirate of Sharjah and enhance national capabilities to combat cyber threats.

The agreement focuses on fostering cooperation in various information and communications technology (ICT) and cybersecurity domains. This includes advancing legislative and regulatory frameworks, supporting law enforcement efforts in cyber crime deterrence, prevention, and response, as well as developing awareness programs and joint scientific research related to cybersecurity.

Under the MoU, both parties will work together on cybersecurity initiatives, including sharing insights on advanced security solutions, organizing technical workshops, and conducting training sessions and cyber drills. They will also collaborate on technical forums and educational initiatives, gaining access to Fortinet Inc.’s NSE training materials and advisory support for incident response. The partnership aims to enhance institutional capabilities and promote national digital resilience through skill-building and strategic collaboration.

His Excellency Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Director General of SDD, emphasized that this partnership aligns with their strategic objectives and demonstrates a commitment to improving the emirate’s digital readiness. He stated that a robust cybersecurity framework is crucial for safeguarding digital transformation and supporting sustainable development.
