Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has announced a 4.51 percent annual increase in requests for electrical connections related to commercial projects through its Al Namoos service in 2024. This information was shared by Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, the Managing Director and CEO of DEWA.

The rise in requests underscores DEWA’s commitment to meeting the growing demand for electricity and water services, which is driven by the urban expansion of Dubai as both its population and economy continue to grow.
In 2024, DEWA received a total of 8,241 requests for electricity connections. By December 31, 2024, the number of accredited consultants and contractors working with DEWA had reached 2,123. Al Namoos, which means “winner” in Emirati Arabic, facilitates electricity connections of up to 150 kilowatts within five days through a streamlined two-step process.
Consultants and contractors benefit from additional resources provided by DEWA, including the Soqoor Programme, Marafeq Smart Feature, and the OWNEK awareness initiative. They also have access to the second edition of DEWA’s Infrastructure NOC Technical Manual.
