The Agthia Group, listed in Abu Dhabi, has successfully acquired a 100 percent stake in the UAE mineral water desalination company Riviere. This strategic acquisition is expected to significantly enhance Agthia’s household customer base, allowing the company to triple its reach and strengthen its position in the water and food segment.

With this acquisition, Agthia aims to achieve a revenue growth of 6.5 percent. The company plans to maintain Riviere’s existing brand while leveraging its customer base to supply water to both offices and homes throughout the UAE. Financial details of the transaction, which is pending regulatory approvals, have not been disclosed.

Riviere, established in 2003, serves various regions including Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Dubai, and Sharjah, primarily focusing on the mainstream segment. The company operates three bottling facilities located in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. This acquisition follows Agthia’s recent announcement of a leadership transition, with Salmeen Al Ameri set to become the new Managing Director and CEO in June, succeeding Alan Smith, who will remain as an adviser. This leadership change is viewed as part of Agthia’s strategy for growth and transformation.
