The Agthia Group, which is listed in Abu Dhabi, has acquired a 100% stake in Riviere, a UAE mineral water desalination company. This strategic move is expected to triple Agthia’s household customer base and enhance its revenue growth in the water and food segment by 6.5%.

Agthia plans to retain the Riviere brand following the acquisition. The company aims to tap into Riviere’s customer base to expand its offerings in supplying water to homes and offices throughout the UAE. Financial details of the acquisition remain undisclosed as it awaits regulatory approvals.

Founded in 2003, Riviere has established itself by serving customers in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Dubai, and Sharjah, primarily focusing on the mainstream segment. The company operates three bottling facilities located in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

This acquisition follows Agthia’s recent announcement that Salmeen Al Ameri will assume the role of Managing Director and CEO in June, succeeding Alan Smith, who will continue as an adviser. The leadership transition is viewed as a key step in Agthia’s growth and transformation strategy.
