Sharjah Media City to Establish New Production Studios with STUDIOI Design

Sharjah Media City, also known as Shams, has recently awarded a design contract for its forthcoming media production hub, Shams Studios. The design work will be carried out by STUDIOI, a UAE-based engineering firm recognized for its previous projects, including The Park Hyatt Hotel in Riyadh and SHA Island near Al-Jurf, Abu Dhabi.

Rashid Abdullah Al-Obad, the director of Sharjah Media City, emphasized that the Shams Studios project signifies a strong commitment to developing state-of-the-art infrastructure that aligns with global advancements in media and production. According to Arab News, he stated, “This is not just an investment in facilities; it is an investment in the future.” The facility is set to include five studios, each measuring 1,710 square meters, contributing to a total area of 38,136 square meters.

In addition to the studios, Shams Studios will feature post-production facilities equipped with editing suites, visual effects technologies, and sound-processing rooms. The complex is also planned to offer 20 creative units available for short- and long-term use, alongside workspaces, offices, meeting rooms, a hotel, and accommodation for actors and production teams. The construction contract for the project is expected to be awarded in the fourth quarter of 2025.
