There were many types of people at the roundtable, such as government officials, members of business councils, top investors, and business leaders from both areas. As a valuable platform, it showed Sharjah’s important role in the world of investment and the UAE’s active diplomatic attempts to build strong economic partnerships with Switzerland, especially in the manufacturing and technology sectors.

The UAE’s Consul General in Geneva, Jasim Al Abdouli, talked about the strong political and business ties between the UAE and Switzerland during the meeting. He also talked about their shared goals for long-term growth and innovation across borders. CEO of Invest in Sharjah Mohamed Juma Al Musharrkh brought up the strategic benefits of the emirate, pointing out that it is an entrance to both regional and global markets.

Director of the Neuchatel Service of the Economy (NECO) Matthieu Aubert and Director of Investment Promotion and Support for Invest in Sharjah Marwan Alichla talked about how their regions could work together to boost their economies. They talked about the different investment options in Sharjah and Neuchatel, which was a good sign for future joint projects.

There are more and more Swiss businesses in Sharjah, which shows that the economic relationship between the two countries is growing. Around 250 Swiss companies are currently operating in Sharjah’s mainland and seven Free Zones, where they can benefit from low taxes and fast shipping. Sharjah and Switzerland traded about 84 million dirhams worth of goods with each other last year. This shows that their ties are growing stronger in the areas of advanced industry, technology, and clean energy.
