Egypt and Saudi Arabia Strengthen Energy Cooperation

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly met with Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on Monday at the Al Manara International Conferences Center. This meeting occurred alongside the 8th Egypt Energy Show (EGYPES 2025), which was inaugurated by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi.

During the meeting, Madbouly reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with Saudi Arabia in the energy sector, emphasizing the goal of advancing development for both nations. He specifically pointed out the significance of ongoing bilateral projects, particularly the Egypt-Saudi electricity interconnection initiative, and expressed optimism regarding its timely completion.

Furthermore, Madbouly outlined Egypt’s strategic plans to expand its renewable energy projects with the involvement of the private sector. These initiatives are aimed at bolstering the national electricity grid through clean energy sources.

In response, Prince Abdulaziz Bin Salman praised the robust energy partnership between the two countries. He reiterated Saudi Arabia’s dedication to improving collaboration in energy efficiency, electricity grid support, and renewable energy initiatives. The Prince also noted that Saudi companies are prepared to share their expertise and drive progress in the electricity interconnection project between the two nations.
