UAE-Kyrgyz Joint Business Council Holds First Meeting to Strengthen Economic Ties

The Federation of the UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) organized the inaugural meeting of the UAE-Kyrgyz Joint Business Council on February 5, 2025. This meeting, which took place in collaboration with the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), aimed to enhance economic and trade relations between the UAE and the Kyrgyz Republic. The focus was on fostering cooperation between the private sectors of both countries.

The meeting was chaired by Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, who serves as the Vice Chairman of the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Chairman of SCCI. Notable attendees included Nartaev Nurlan Vic, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, along with Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, Director-General of SCCI, and Ahmed Al Qaizi, Assistant Secretary-General of FCCI. The gathering also included Dr. Fatema Khalifa Al Muqarrab, Director of International Relations at SCCI, and various business leaders and entrepreneurs representing key sectors such as agricultural technology, energy, manufacturing, healthcare, and tourism.

During the meeting, a presentation was made regarding the operational mechanism of the UAE-Kyrgyz Joint Business Council. This presentation underscored the importance of reciprocal trade delegations and the need to expand cooperation across various sectors. The flexibility of the Council’s operations was highlighted as essential for achieving its objectives. Additionally, participants discussed the possibility of establishing an annual joint economic event, which would act as a platform for direct communication between business owners and investors in both countries.

In his welcoming remarks, Al Owais stressed the importance of the UAE-Kyrgyz Joint Business Council as a strategic platform to strengthen trade relations, explore new investment opportunities, and enhance the economic partnership between the UAE and Kyrgyzstan. He pointed out that Sharjah, due to its strategic location and advanced infrastructure, is an attractive hub for Kyrgyz investments. Al Owais reaffirmed the commitment of the UAE Chambers to support the Kyrgyz Business Council’s inaugural meeting, viewing it as a pivotal step in advancing economic and trade relations.

Vic, on his part, expressed the Kyrgyz business community’s eagerness to collaborate with the UAE’s private sector. He emphasized that the Council could play a crucial role in deepening economic ties between the two nations by facilitating the exchange of knowledge and expertise, while also promoting strategic partnerships among businesses and investors. The attendees also shared insights on growth opportunities across various sectors and reaffirmed their dedication to enhancing economic and investment relations between Kyrgyzstan and the UAE.
