The World Future Energy Summit 2025, a premier event focused on clean energy and sustainability, is currently underway at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). Hosted by Masdar, the summit runs from January 14 to January 16, aligning with Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week. It promises high-level debates, innovative product showcases, and opportunities aimed at promoting a more sustainable global future.

This year, the summit has seen an impressive 25 percent year-on-year increase in visitor registrations, underscoring its importance as a platform for global collaboration. More than 30,000 government officials, industry leaders, and sustainability advocates from around the world have gathered to discuss energy transitions and circular economies. The event is showcasing a range of advancements in renewable energy, artificial intelligence, climate technologies, green financing, and sustainable urban development.
The lineup of speakers includes prominent figures from the UAE’s Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, such as Sharif Alolama, Under-Secretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs, and Abdelmuti Ahmed Murad, Head of Energy Strategies and Policies Division. Other notable speakers include Heiko Seitz from PwC, Fadi Comair from the Emirates Energy and Water Resources Council, and Ghiwa Nakat from Greenpeace. This diverse group reflects the summit’s commitment to fostering discussions on innovative solutions for energy challenges.
This year’s summit agenda focuses significantly on the transformative role of artificial intelligence. Sessions are exploring how AI can improve efficiency, ensure supply security, and reduce emissions across various sectors, including energy, climate response, water management, and urban sustainability. A case study highlights autonomous drilling operations that saved US$500 million and reduced CO2 emissions by one million tonnes in 2023.
Additionally, the conference features seven specialized streams covering various aspects of the energy ecosystem, providing attendees with comprehensive insights into developments in Solar & Clean Energy, Water, EcoWASTE, Sustainable Cities, Green Finance, eMobility, and pathways to achieving a 1.5 °C climate goal. With over 400 exhibitors, the summit offers interactive exhibits and networking opportunities, showcasing groundbreaking solutions in solar energy, eMobility, clean energy, and waste management.
