Air Arabia Increases Hand Baggage Allowance to 10kg for Passengers

Low-cost carrier Air Arabia announced on Monday that passengers can now carry free hand baggage weighing up to 10kg. This allowance includes two pieces: one carry-on bag and one small personal item. The airline emphasized that the carry-on bag must fit within the dimensions of 55cm x 40cm x 20cm and be designed to safely fit in the overhead compartment.

The second piece of baggage can be a handbag, duty-free bag, or backpack, which must fit under the seat in front of the passenger. The dimensions for this item should not exceed 25cm x 33cm x 20cm. Passengers traveling with infants are allowed an additional 3kg of baggage, enhancing convenience for families.

Other airlines in the UAE, such as Emirates, flydubai, and Etihad Airways, have different hand baggage policies. Emirates permits one handbag that does not exceed 7kg, and allows reasonable quantities of duty-free purchases like liquor, cigarettes, and perfume. For passengers boarding at airports in India, Emirates has clarified that one piece of carry-on baggage is allowed.

Etihad Airways offers economy class passengers traveling with infants aged between seven days and 23 months the option to take one cabin bag weighing up to 5kg, in addition to another item such as a pushchair, carrycot, or car seat, provided these items meet specified dimensions. Flydubai allows a 7kg hand baggage limit along with one laptop bag, one ladies’ handbag, or one gentlemen’s satchel.
