DIFC serves as a vital gateway for Chinese financial institutions and multinational firms, with 30 percent of its occupants being Fortune 500 companies. As economic relationships grow between the UAE and China, DIFC aims to provide a robust platform to assist Chinese businesses in expanding and scaling operations within the MEASA region. Additionally, Dubai’s initiatives to integrate artificial intelligence across various sectors complement China’s advancements in research and technology.
Chen Liang, chairman of CICC, commented on the launch: “The opening of the CICC DIFC Branch marks a significant milestone in our international expansion strategy. CICC remains committed to delivering innovative financial solutions that facilitate cross-border capital flows and foster deeper economic ties between China and key global markets.” He emphasized that the UAE serves as a crucial gateway for the Gulf region, allowing CICC to create tailored solutions for regional clients while supporting Chinese enterprises seeking opportunities abroad.
Essa Kazim, Governor of DIFC, expressed enthusiasm about CICC’s arrival, stating that it enhances the strategic relations between the UAE and China. He noted that Dubai and DIFC continue to attract significant interest from banks, asset management firms, and corporations, reinforcing their commitment to providing a comprehensive ecosystem for Chinese business expansion in the MEASA region.
With deep Chinese roots and a broad international footprint, CICC is dedicated to delivering high-quality financial services to a diverse clientele. The firm focuses on a balanced, full-service model that integrates research and technology to empower its various business sectors, including investment banking, asset management, and private equity.
Since its founding, CICC has been a leader in developing China’s capital markets, merging local expertise with international best practices. The firm has successfully expanded into global markets, establishing offices in key financial centers such as Hong Kong SAR, New York, London, Singapore, Frankfurt, and Tokyo.
The establishment of the CICC DIFC branch is a strategic move to position the firm as a premier investment banking gateway between China and the Gulf region. The branch will collaborate with sovereign wealth funds, financial institutions, and major corporations to actively engage in China’s capital market projects and enhance business partnerships between China and the Gulf.
