The first flight from Abu Dhabi International Airport landed at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on July 2, making Atlanta the fifth American destination in Etihad’s global network, following New York, Chicago, Washington D.C., and Boston. The Atlanta route is initially set to operate four times a week, but due to record occupancy rates and high demand for early bookings, Etihad Airways plans to increase the frequency to daily flights starting in November 2025. The demand from both leisure and business sectors has exceeded expectations, confirming Atlanta’s status as a key market for the airline.

Antounaldo Neves, the CEO of Etihad Airways, highlighted Atlanta’s importance, stating that it is a vibrant city with deep cultural, economic, and tourist significance. He emphasized that the new service enhances access to the Southeastern United States, while also providing seamless connections to the Middle East, the Indian subcontinent, and Asia via the airline’s hub in Abu Dhabi. With the pre-clearance for U.S. immigration and customs at Abu Dhabi International Airport, guests can enjoy easy access to Atlanta as local travelers. Neves expressed excitement about welcoming more guests to Abu Dhabi, noting that American travelers are already looking forward to the city’s stunning beaches, exceptional parks, and world-class dining experiences.
