Akasa Air, India’s emerging low-cost airline, is set to enhance travel options between India and Saudi Arabia with the launch of its new direct flights from Kochi to Jeddah, starting June 29. This new service aims to provide a convenient and affordable travel option for passengers, fostering stronger connectivity between Kerala and Saudi Arabia. By offering four weekly flights on this route, Akasa Air is responding to the growing demand for air travel, particularly for religious pilgrimages and business connections.

The airline will schedule its flights on specific days of the week. One flight each will operate on Saturdays and Mondays, while two flights will be available on Sundays. The Saturday and Monday flights are scheduled to depart from Kochi at 6:10 PM, arriving in Jeddah at 9:55 PM. The return flights from Jeddah will leave at 6:45 AM and reach Kochi at 11:45 AM.

For Sunday services, the first flight will depart Kochi at 3:00 AM, landing in Jeddah at 6:45 AM. The return flight will leave Jeddah at 7:45 AM and arrive back in Kochi by 4:45 PM. Additionally, a second flight on Sundays will depart Kochi at 8:30 PM, arriving in Jeddah at 1:10 AM the following day. This flight will then leave Jeddah at 10:10 AM, landing back in Kochi at 6:45 PM.

Initially, on June 29 and July 6, Akasa Air will operate a reduced service with only one flight scheduled each day. These flights will depart Kochi at 5:00 PM and reach Jeddah at 8:45 PM, with the return trips leaving Jeddah at 9:45 PM and arriving back in Kochi at 6:45 AM.

From July 13 onward, Akasa Air plans to increase the frequency of its Sunday services to two flights every Sunday, reflecting the growing demand for these routes. The airline has selected the Boeing 737 Max aircraft for its operations, which will feature 186 economy-class seats to ensure a comfortable travel experience for passengers.

The introduction of the Kochi-Jeddah route marks a significant step in Akasa Air’s international expansion. By providing affordable international air travel, the airline aims to strengthen its presence in the global market.
