IndiGo, India’s leading airline, has inaugurated a daily nonstop service connecting Mumbai to Fujairah, marking its forty-first international destination. Fujairah, located on the eastern coast of the United Arab Emirates, is recognized as the only emirate along this shoreline, known for its unspoiled beaches, breathtaking mountain landscapes, and rich cultural traditions. This new route underscores IndiGo’s ambitious international expansion strategy and solidifies its presence in the Middle East. With this addition, Fujairah becomes IndiGo’s fifth destination in the UAE, joining Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and Ras Al Khaimah.

The direct flights between Mumbai and Fujairah are set to meet the increasing demand from both business and leisure travelers. Additionally, plans are in place for future connections to Kannur, in response to Fujairah’s emerging reputation as a prime location for adventure tourism. Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah are working together to establish the UAE’s first cross-emirate adventure trail, which promises new and thrilling outdoor experiences for Indian tourists looking for immersive nature escapes.
Furthermore, the flight schedules have been carefully synchronized with regional bus services, facilitating smooth transfers for travelers. This strategic planning aims to provide a hassle-free experience for those exploring the UAE’s diverse attractions, ranging from Sharjah’s cultural richness and Dubai’s iconic skyline to the stunning natural landscapes of Fujairah.
Mr. Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, expressed enthusiasm about the new route, stating, “We are pleased to commence daily direct operations between Mumbai as well as Kannur to Fujairah, UAE’s hidden gem known for its natural beauty and growing economic significance.” He highlighted that with these flights, IndiGo connects 20 Indian cities to the UAE, offering over 280 weekly flights that further the airline’s goal of global connectivity while ensuring affordable, timely, and seamless travel experiences for customers.
