Emirates Group’s airport and travel services company, dnata, is actively pursuing a robust pipeline of acquisitions to fuel its growth and expand its global presence, as revealed by CEO Steve Allen. The company is focusing on various sectors, including catering, ground handling, and cargo services, as part of its strategic initiatives.

Allen emphasized dnata’s commitment to acquiring new businesses, stating, “We have a good pipeline.” He noted that while no specific acquisitions have been announced yet, the company is in the midst of evaluating multiple targets. The acquisition strategy aims to enhance geographical reach and improve product offerings in high-demand areas such as cargo and premium services.

In discussing potential targets, Allen highlighted the company’s focus on catering, ground handling, and cargo sectors. He mentioned that dnata is currently engaged in the due diligence process for several acquisitions, which is a critical step in evaluating these opportunities. This consolidation within the cargo and premium services sectors is seen as a chance for dnata to strengthen its global operations and provide high-quality services worldwide.

Allen’s remarks come shortly after the Emirates Group announced its full-year results, showcasing dnata’s strong performance. The company reported a profit of Dh1.6 billion before tax, which is a 2 percent increase from the previous year. Additionally, dnata recorded revenues of Dh21.1 billion, representing a 10 percent rise, along with robust cash assets totaling Dh3.7 billion.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates airline and Group, expressed confidence in dnata’s growth trajectory, noting that facility investments are beginning to yield results in key markets. The company plans to open new facilities in Amsterdam, Dubai, and Erbil next year, which will significantly enhance its cargo handling capacity and capabilities.
