UAE airlines have announced an extension of their flight suspensions to and from Pakistan, with some services not resuming until Tuesday, May 13. This decision comes as Pakistan has closed its airspace due to escalating cross-border tensions with India.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Pakistan announced on Saturday that its airspace would remain closed until at least 12 PM Pakistan time (12:30 PM IST) on Sunday, May 11. In response, Emirates Airline updated its suspension date for flights to Pakistan, moving it from May 10 to May 12. The Dubai-based airline stated on its official website that it is halting operations to all destinations in Pakistan because of ongoing uncertainty regarding access to the country’s airspace and airports. Emirates services flights to Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Sialkot, and Karachi.
Emirates expressed regret for the inconvenience and assured passengers that it is closely monitoring the situation, promising to provide operational updates on its website. The airline also informed that passengers booked on connecting flights to Pakistan will not be allowed to travel until further notice.
Furthermore, Air Arabia, based in Sharjah, announced via social media that its flights to Pakistan are temporarily suspended until May 13 due to the current events. Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Airways also joined the suspension, canceling all flights to Pakistan as of May 10. In its statement, Etihad mentioned that all services to Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad have been canceled and highlighted that the situation is evolving, indicating potential changes or disruptions. The airline is coordinating closely with relevant authorities and advises those booked to fly to Pakistan to check their official websites for regular updates.
