H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, recently met with Suzan Kereere, President of Global Markets at PayPal. The meeting, held at the Emirates Group headquarters, focused on enhancing their 15-year partnership and exploring new opportunities in the evolving digital payments landscape.

Currently, Emirates offers PayPal as a payment option on its website in 34 countries. This service provides customers with a simplified, fast, and secure checkout experience when booking their travel. Over the past year, the airline has reported a significant increase in customer adoption, usage frequency, and transaction volumes associated with PayPal.
In a strategic move, PayPal has established its first regional headquarters in Dubai to support the Middle East and Africa. This initiative is aimed at enhancing commerce capabilities for consumers and businesses in emerging economies, enabling firms of all sizes to sell across borders. Dubai’s emergence as a fintech hub is bolstered by its strategic location, supportive business policies, and robust financial infrastructure, attracting major players in the fintech sector and fostering local startups.
