Emirates Airlines is set to enhance its services by introducing retrofitted Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft to eight additional cities. This expansion is part of a broader plan that aims to serve over 70 cities by the end of 2025, featuring aircraft equipped with the latest cabin interiors. This initiative highlights the airline’s commitment to providing a superior travel experience.

The new routes will include Emirates’ upgraded A380s to Bangkok, Hong Kong, Nice, and Perth, while the refreshed Boeing 777s will operate to Madrid, Kuala Lumpur, Phuket, and Frankfurt, in addition to another service to Dublin. This deployment aims to deliver a consistent and high-quality Emirates experience to passengers traveling through Dubai.
Emirates’ retrofit programme, which is recognized as the largest in aviation history, involves a significant investment of US $5 billion and plans to refresh a total of 219 aircraft. The refurbishment efforts are being carried out at an impressive pace, with Emirates Engineering Centre teams completing an average of one wide-body aircraft every three weeks. By the end of the refurbishment initiative, Emirates plans to offer over 2 million Premium Economy seats annually by 2025.
Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, emphasized that this rollout allows more customers to enjoy the latest onboard experience across over 70 cities. He noted that the airline is on track to become a leader in Premium Economy offerings, enhancing its competitive edge in the travel market.
As part of its strategic network, Emirates will introduce its first long-range Airbus A350 to Australia, specifically to Adelaide, starting December 1. This aircraft can fly non-stop for over 15 hours, expanding Emirates’ reach in long-haul travel.
Since starting its refurbishment programme in November 2022, Emirates has upgraded 51 aircraft, with plans for a full cabin refurbishment of 219 aircraft, including 110 A380s and 109 Boeing 777s. The initiative aims to increase Premium Economy capacity significantly, with projections of 4 million seats per year by the end of 2026, reflecting strong demand for elevated travel experiences.
The retrofit process involves extensive work, with over 270 engineers and technicians dedicated to ensuring each aircraft meets the highest standards. The refurbishment includes installing thousands of new seats across various classes and upgrading cabin interiors with high-quality materials.
Overall, Emirates’ ambitious retrofit programme is not only about enhancing passenger comfort but also about solidifying its position in the competitive airline industry.
