The new routes offer travelers direct access to two prominent European cities at competitive prices. Flights to Varna will operate three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, while flights to Baneasa in Bucharest will be available four times a week on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Tickets for these routes are currently available on the airline’s website, wizzair.com, and through its mobile app, which is accessible in Arabic.

The introduction of the Varna route marks a significant achievement in the aviation sector within the region, as Wizz Air Abu Dhabi is the only airline operating this route between the UAE and Bulgaria. The connection between these two major destinations opens up new opportunities for travelers and provides them with a reliable service at affordable prices.

Johann Eidhagen, Managing Director of Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, expressed his excitement about adding Varna and Baneasa to their growing network of destinations. He noted that these two vibrant European cities offer a unique blend of culture, history, and adventure, providing more travel options for passengers. He emphasized that the Varna route presents a new opportunity for travelers in the region to explore new destinations and significantly eases travel logistics. Eidhagen also stated that Wizz Air Abu Dhabi continues its efforts to lower travel costs and make travel accessible for everyone.

Varna, known as the jewel of the Black Sea, offers a comprehensive mix of relaxation experiences, adventure, and cultural activities. The city is famous for its warm sea waters and golden beaches, as well as housing the largest Roman bath complex in Bulgaria, making it an ideal destination for sunbathers. Additionally, Varna boasts a rich heritage with ancient ruins and unique museums that narrate its historic story. Visitors can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, including strolls through parks near the sea and exploring summer resorts.

Dr. Frank Quante, CEO of Fraport Twin Star Airport Management, mentioned that they have been working for many years to enhance connectivity with the Gulf region. He expressed pleasure in Wizz Air’s announcement of flights from Abu Dhabi, stating that this step opens the door to numerous opportunities in Bulgaria’s Black Sea region, contributing to increased travel and tourism sector growth.

Wizz Air operates from Baneasa Airport, which serves as a gateway to Bucharest, thanks to its strategic location in the city center. This allows for quick access to the city’s architectural landmarks and heritage sites. The shift from Henri Coanda International Airport to Baneasa has reduced travel time to Bucharest’s city center, improving the travel experience for passengers.

As part of its pivotal role in promoting sustainable growth for the tourism sector in Abu Dhabi, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi offers a wide range of high-quality, low-cost travel options to many destinations. These include Alexandria, Cairo, and Sohag in Egypt; Almaty, Astana, and Turkestan in Kazakhstan; Amman in Jordan; Baku and Gabala in Azerbaijan; Beirut in Lebanon; Kutaisi in Georgia; Larnaca in Cyprus; Male in the Maldives; Samarkand and Tashkent in Uzbekistan; Sarajevo in Bosnia; Tirana in Albania; Varna in Bulgaria; Yerevan in Armenia; Belgrade in Serbia; Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan; Cluj in Romania; and Dammam and Madinah in Saudi Arabia.
