During the prayer, the sermon emphasized the value of righteousness in faith and worship, highlighting the importance of embracing one’s responsibilities towards the community. Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, the Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, and Zakat, delivered the sermon. He explained that the term “Birr” in Arabic signifies universality and extensiveness, and righteousness is fundamentally about extending good deeds and benevolence toward others.

Dr. Al Darei noted that the Holy Quran references the concept of righteousness over 30 times, which underscores its significance. He pointed out that God Almighty refers to Himself in relation to this concept, emphasizing His benevolence as the Most Kind and Most Merciful. He urged worshippers to use Eid as an opportunity for piety and to uphold the values established by their ancestors, who contributed to building a righteous and successful society. He remarked that their dedication to principles has led to security, safety, stability, and prosperity in the UAE.

After the Eid prayer, Sheikh Mohamed exchanged greetings with worshippers, celebrating the blessed occasion. Alongside the Sheikhs, he recited Al-Fatiha in memory of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, praying for God’s mercy and eternal peace for him.
