The startup was founded with the aim of integrating sustainability into daily life. Bloomspoon is known for creating the world’s first plantable cutlery, which is made from wheat straw and incorporates a water-soluble seed capsule. Once used, the cutlery can be planted to grow herbs such as basil or mint, effectively transforming single-use waste into new life.

As reported by Zawya, Mostafa Khattab, the founder of Bloomspoon, emphasized the company’s mission by stating, “We’re not just building products; we’re building habits and mindsets.” He highlighted that the partnership with Mr. Kreidieh and the BFL Group is not only about financial investment but also about scaling the impact of their innovative products.

Kreidieh’s investment transcends mere capital; it also offers strategic alignment, valuable retail insights, and access to a wide network that can facilitate the introduction of Bloomspoon’s innovations into everyday households. He noted the strong demand for sustainable ideas among younger consumers, particularly Gen Z, during the episode.

The appearance on Shark Tank represents a crucial moment in Bloomspoon’s growth trajectory. The startup has already garnered regional attention, with coverage from notable media outlets such as Reuters, The Weather Channel, Dubai One TV, and Forbes Middle East. Bloomspoon also commits to planting a tree for every order and maintains a net-zero website as part of its purpose-driven business model.

In the future, Bloomspoon plans to expand its product offerings, enter new markets, enhance its retail presence, and pursue B Corp certification. With the strategic backing from Kreidieh and the exposure from Shark Tank, the brand is well-positioned to become a leading name in sustainable living in the UAE.
