According to Khaleej Times, Ebrahim Al Hajri, President of Khalifa University of Science and Technology, pointed out that resistance to change remains a significant challenge in higher education. He explained that while AI offers opportunities like automating tasks and personalizing lessons, some educators remain skeptical. Al Hajri told *Khaleej Times*, “Instead of viewing AI as a threat, we should see it as an opportunity to create more good than harm.” He compared the current hesitation around AI to the initial reluctance people had when online payment systems like PayPal were first introduced.

Experts believe that addressing these concerns requires hands-on training and clear communication about the role of AI. They emphasized that AI tools do not replace teachers but enhance their efficiency by enabling personalized learning experiences and improving student engagement.

Alavikunhu Panthakkan, Associate Professor and AI Research Scientist at the University of Dubai, highlighted that educators risk becoming outdated if they fail to adopt new technologies. He noted that students today have access to advanced AI tools, allowing them to expand on classroom teachings. Panthakkan explained that AI can help teachers create customized materials and adapt to modern learning methods, ensuring that content remains engaging and accurate.

Experts also stressed the importance of updating assessment methods to reflect this era of advanced technology, urging educators to ensure students grasp the core concepts behind the tools they use. As educational institutions and policymakers explore ways to integrate AI, they are being called upon to provide the necessary support and training to help teachers confidently embrace these changes.
