The Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) has announced new measures designed to facilitate business expansion in the emirate. These changes allow companies registered in other UAE emirates and their free zones to establish branches in Abu Dhabi without needing to secure physical premises for the first year. This initiative applies to 1,200 economic activities across various sectors, exempting them from the physical premises requirement during the initial licensing period.

According to Mohammed Munif Al Mansouri, Acting Director-General of the Abu Dhabi Registration and Licensing Authority, the government is committed to supporting Abu Dhabi’s transition to a smart, diversified, and sustainable economy. He emphasized that these initiatives aim to enable the business sector to capitalize on the numerous promising opportunities available in the emirate.
Companies interested in applying for a new branch license in Abu Dhabi can do so through the TAMM digital platform, which streamlines the process by allowing users to submit necessary documents, obtain approvals, and pay fees to receive their economic license upon acceptance.
This development underscores Abu Dhabi’s dedication to creating a favorable investment climate and enhancing its reputation as a hub for investment and economic growth.
