The platform will allow students to explore subjects like science, engineering, and history in 3D, using devices like laptops, tablets, and VR headsets. This hands-on approach will let students step into virtual science experiments, use virtual avatars, or even visit historical landmarks in 3D.
Jay Varkey, Deputy CEO of GEMS Education, shared with Khaleej Times that this partnership reflects their commitment to blending innovation with education. He noted that the platform will give students and teachers access to immersive tools, preparing them for the future. Parents will also be able to use the platform and learn alongside their children.
The new system offers several features to improve digital learning. It provides a comprehensive library of 3D content to help students and teachers explore topics like healthcare, space, and vocational skills. The platform also personalises learning by tailoring content to suit individual student needs and learning styles. Additionally, it includes virtual simulations to help students safely practice and build practical skills.
Dan Lejerskar, Chairman of EON Reality, expressed his excitement about partnering with GEMS Education, calling it their first collaboration with a private K-12 group globally. He highlighted that their digital library offers rich resources across many subjects, enhancing both teaching and learning experiences.
The technology will also play a key role at the upcoming GEMS School of Research and Innovation, opening in August. According to Baz Nijjar, Vice President of Education Technology and Digital Innovation at GEMS, the school will integrate EON Reality’s XR technology to focus on advanced skills and research opportunities.
Experts believe this move will not only boost student engagement but also ensure teaching methods keep up with the latest advancements in education technology.
