AD Ports Group, a prominent player in global trade, logistics, and industry, announced yesterday, on January 22, 2025, the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Egyptian Ministry of Industry and Transport. This agreement aims to explore the joint development and operations of an integrated logistics park in Alexandria, Egypt.
The MoU was signed by Ahmed Al Mutawa, Regional CEO of AD Ports Group, and Amr Ahmed Moustafa, Executive Managing Director of the Holding Company for Maritime and Land Transportation (HCMLT), which is part of the Egyptian Ministry of Transportation. This collaboration will focus on developing, managing, and operating a 1.1 square kilometer integrated logistics area at Alexandria Port, which is poised to become one of the largest logistics hubs on the Mediterranean Sea.
According to WAM, Alexandria Port handles approximately 60% of Egypt’s foreign trade. Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Managing Director and Group CEO of AD Ports Group, emphasized the company’s commitment to partnering with governments for sustainable economic development. He stated, “AD Ports Group partners with governments for the long-term development of their economies, inspired by the vision of our wise leadership. We are working with the Egyptian government to bring growth, jobs and prosperity to the people of Egypt.”
Al Shamisi also highlighted that this signing could pave the way for strategic infrastructure projects within the Mediterranean Sea region. He noted that such projects would leverage Egypt’s global trade flows, thereby driving economic growth and enhancing the Group’s portfolio of value-added investments.
