This registration initiative offers significant benefits for participants, including exemption from legal action for owning unlicensed weapons and waiving registration fees. Additionally, citizens will be able to license any type and number of weapons they possess. The announcement was made during a press conference held in Abu Dhabi, featuring key officials such as Mohammed Suhail Al Neyadi, Director General of the Office of Weapons and Hazardous Materials, and Brigadier Abdul Rahman Ali Al Mansouri, Acting Director of the Directorate of Weapons and Explosives at the Ministry of Interior.

Al Neyadi highlighted that the initiative responds to citizen requests and aims to shield them from the legal implications of possessing weapons and ammunition without a license. It also seeks to educate the public about the risks associated with illegal weapon ownership and promote compliance with the country’s laws. In his remarks, Brigadier Al Mansouri noted that the Ministry of Interior has established a streamlined weapons and ammunition licensing service on its website to assist citizens in registering or disposing of their weapons.

For further details regarding the registration process, citizens are encouraged to follow the initiative’s social media account (@aldaraman.ae) and utilize the smart channels of the Ministry of Interior (MOI UAE) for registration. The official website (www.moi.gov.ae) and the toll-free number 800233 are also available for inquiries related to the initiative.
