The Sharjah City Municipal Council has officially launched the “Sustainable Future” program, aimed at supporting 730 young individuals who are preparing for marriage. This initiative, led by Aisha Al Suwaidi, marks the beginning of a comprehensive effort to assist youth in the emirate.

Al Suwaidi explained that the program initially focuses on young people from the Sharjah City Municipality, with plans to extend participation to all government departments in later stages. This first phase targets a specific group of 730 youth who are intending to marry.
In discussing the program’s structure, Al Suwaidi informed “Sharjah 24” that the municipal council has collaborated with various government departments to establish an implementation plan that unfolds in four phases. The initial phase involves creating a detailed database of young people interested in the program.
The next phase will involve distributing questionnaires to understand the reasons behind the reluctance to marry, followed by an analysis of the responses to draw insights. The third phase will provide pre-marital training, conducted in partnership with the Family Development Department of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah. The program will culminate in a youth wedding event, celebrating the participants’ journeys.
