The ARIIS system utilizes LiDAR sensors, lasers, and 3D cameras to autonomously inspect rail tracks and critical infrastructure components without disrupting metro operations. This initiative emphasizes Dubai Metro’s commitment to enhancing safety, operational efficiency, and reliability through intelligent technologies.

Abdul Mohsin Kalbat, CEO of RTA’s Rail Agency, stated, “Dubai is proud to lead in smart solutions that improve the reliability and efficiency of the Metro.” He highlighted that the introduction of ARIIS signifies another advancement in maintaining one of the world’s most advanced and safest public transport systems.

David Franks, Managing Director of Keolis MHI, referred to ARIIS as a “milestone achievement,” noting that it transforms maintenance operations by increasing safety, facilitating data-driven decision-making, and enhancing efficiency. Loic Ayoul, CEO of FMT, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with RTA and Keolis MHI, emphasizing that this AI-powered solution significantly elevates railway infrastructure performance, safety, and sustainability for Dubai Metro.

The deployment of ARIIS brings several key benefits, including enhanced safety by reducing manual inspections by up to 70 percent and improving infrastructure assessment capabilities by 40 percent. Additionally, it automates inspections, cutting the duration by approximately 75 percent—from 2,400 man-hours to just 700. The system also supports predictive maintenance strategies that can extend the lifespan of infrastructure and decrease lifecycle maintenance costs by up to 25 percent.
