Sharjah Crown Prince Leads Energy Council Meeting to Discuss Sector Developments

H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, chaired the Energy Council’s second meeting on June 2, 2025. The meeting took place at the Ruler’s Office and was attended by key officials, including H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Petroleum Department.

During the session, members received updates on the latest developments in the energy sector, focusing on the performance of relevant entities. The discussions highlighted ongoing projects that aim to diversify energy sources, enhance systems and technologies in line with international standards, and support carbon reduction and neutrality targets.

The council also reviewed the outcomes of recent work visits to leading nations in sustainable energy and water, emphasizing the adoption of best practices. Future project proposals were discussed, targeting the expansion of clean energy sources and the optimization of natural resources while ensuring environmental protection.

Additional attendees included Sheikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Chairman of the Petroleum Department; Saeed Al Suwaidi, Chairman of Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority; and Hatem Diab Al Mousa, Secretary-General of the Energy Council.
