Abu Dhabi is set to unveil Fahid Island, a new residential megaproject that has captured attention for months. Developed by Aldar Properties, this project is being promoted as “Abu Dhabi’s newest island destination where turquoise waters, lush mangroves, and thoughtfully designed experiences redefine coastal living.” Located a short drive from Yas Island, Fahid Island is designed to center on wellness and wellbeing.

Notably, it is the UAE’s first island developed with well-being as a core focus. The design features natural mangroves that purify the air, with every home placed no more than 250 meters from a park or shaded trail. The development aims to enhance the lifestyle of its residents with sustainably designed spaces, including unique retail and dining establishments, as well as schools, all interconnected to promote walking.
The official Fahid Island webpage highlights the island’s benefits, stating it will “wash away stress, keep your heart healthier, make you smarter, and help you breathe better, live longer, get fitter, and make wellness a way of life.” This ambitious vision promises a transformative living experience for future residents.
Fahid Island will feature an impressive 940,000 square meters of green space along an 11-kilometer stretch of coastline, complemented by 100,000 square meters of beach. Additional amenities include a 10-kilometer long stretch of berms, a 3-kilometer mangrove boardwalk, a 2-kilometer waterfront promenade, 15 kilometers of public walkways, and a 10-kilometer dedicated running loop.
As excitement builds, further updates on this remarkable project can be found on whatson.ae, alongside information on other stunning residential developments in Abu Dhabi, including a recently-announced Brabus themed island.
