China Seeks Bilateral Free Trade Deal with UAE, Says Trade Minister

China has approached the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to explore a potential bilateral free trade deal, according to UAE’s trade minister, Thani Al Zeyoudi. This announcement follows the recent launch of EU-UAE talks aimed at establishing a similar trade agreement.

Since 2021, the UAE has been actively pursuing various bilateral trade, investment, and cooperation agreements, known as Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreements. These initiatives aim to decrease the country’s reliance on fossil fuels and enhance its long-term economic growth prospects.
