viAct Raises $7.3 Million to Expand AI Solutions in MENA

Hong Kong-based AI company viAct has successfully raised $7.30 million in a Series A funding round. The investment was led by Ireland’s VentureWave Capital, with additional participation from Singtel Innov8 and Korean Investment Partners.

The company aims to expand its business on a global scale, particularly focusing on the Middle East, with a special emphasis on Saudi Arabia. viAct plans to support the region’s construction and energy sectors through AI-driven safety and productivity solutions, as detailed in a recent press release.

With the new funding, viAct intends to enhance its AI research and development (R&D) capabilities, build local teams in the MENA region, and adapt its technology to align with local environmental, regulatory, and operational requirements.

Gary Ng, Co-founder and CEO of viAct, expressed the company’s vision, stating, “Our goal is to redefine industry standards, positioning viAct at the forefront of this transformation. With our cutting-edge AI solutions, we aim to empower every stakeholder to achieve unprecedented levels of efficiency and responsibility.”

Hugo Cheuk, Co-founder and COO of viAct, emphasized the company’s commitment to enhancing AI for safety practices as they enter new markets. He noted that this investment would allow them to improve their technology and further their mission of creating safer and more sustainable work environments.

Sharan Makhija, Senior Director – Investments at Singtel Innov8, highlighted the potential of viAct’s AI-powered platform. He mentioned that the platform could utilize 5G networks to provide real-time monitoring, instant alerts, and data-driven insights, thus improving operational efficiency and ensuring proactive hazard detection.

Founded in 2016, viAct has been serving over 200 contractors worldwide with its AI-powered platform, which focuses on real-time risk detection, predictive analytics, and automated compliance.
