CICC Officially Launches Branch at Dubai International Financial Centre

China International Capital Corporation Limited (CICC), recognized as one of China’s leading investment banks, has officially launched its new branch in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). This financial hub is known as a premier global center in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia (MEASA).

The new branch operates under the name CICC (DIFC Branch) and is regulated by the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA). It holds a Category 4 license, enhancing CICC’s ability to serve its clients in the region.

DIFC serves as a vital gateway for Chinese financial institutions and multinational firms, with a significant presence of major players in the Chinese banking sector. Notably, around 30 percent of the firms based at DIFC are Fortune 500 companies. As economic connections between the UAE and China continue to grow, DIFC aims to provide a robust platform for Chinese businesses to expand in the MEASA region.

Chen Liang, Chairman of CICC, emphasized the importance of the new branch by stating, “The opening of the CICC DIFC Branch marks a significant milestone in our international expansion strategy.” He noted that CICC is dedicated to offering innovative financial solutions that support cross-border capital flows and strengthen economic ties between China and key global markets.

His Excellency Essa Kazim, Governor of DIFC, expressed enthusiasm about welcoming CICC, highlighting the branch’s role in enhancing strategic relations between the UAE and China. He remarked that Dubai and DIFC are becoming increasingly attractive destinations for Chinese investments, with growing interest from various sectors including banking, wealth management, and large corporations.

CICC is committed to delivering high-quality financial services across a wide range of sectors, including investment banking, asset management, and private equity. Since its establishment in 1995, CICC has been at the forefront of China’s capital market evolution, blending international best practices with local knowledge.

The firm plans to leverage its experience to facilitate capital flows and cross-border investments, positioning the CICC DIFC Branch as a key player in the Gulf region’s financial landscape. The branch aims to collaborate closely with sovereign wealth funds and other financial partners to enhance business ties between China and the Gulf.
