The Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) has introduced a trade name issuance service powered by artificial intelligence (AI), marking a significant advancement in the department’s digital transformation efforts. This initiative aims to enhance the service experience for both individuals and businesses in the emirate.

This innovative service signifies a major restructuring of existing procedures, streamlining the time and effort needed to complete transactions through SEDD’s various channels. The AI technologies will analyze the nature of commercial activities and propose unique names that adhere to regulatory requirements.

According to the department, this new service will cut the completion time for trade name issuance by as much as 98 percent. Hamad Ali Abdullah Al Mahmoud, the Chairman of SEDD, stated that the service was designed to offer a unified and integrated digital experience, leveraging AI and operational flexibility to meet the diverse needs of customers across different sectors.

Additionally, the new service enhances the efficiency and flexibility of the business environment in Sharjah, making it easier to establish companies and businesses in various fields. It is also expected to increase the attractiveness of both local and foreign investments in the emirate, according to Al Mahmoud.
