US chip maker Nvidia has announced a partnership with Saudi Arabia’s AI startup Humain, which is backed by the country’s sovereign wealth fund. As part of this collaboration, Nvidia will ship 18 000 AI chips to Saudi Arabia to support the development of a new data center project.

This partnership was unveiled during a recent White House trip to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. Saudi Arabia is focused on enhancing its artificial intelligence capabilities and building up its cloud computing infrastructure through foreign investments.

Jensen Huang, the founder of Nvidia, stated, “AI, like electricity and Internet, is essential infrastructure for every nation.” He emphasized that the partnership with Humain aims to create AI infrastructure that will help the people and companies of Saudi Arabia realize the Kingdom’s ambitious vision.

The advanced Blackwell chips that Nvidia will provide are set to be utilized in a 500 megawatt data center in Saudi Arabia. At the Saudi-US Investment Forum in Riyadh, it was mentioned that the initial deployment will feature the GB300 Blackwell chips, which are among Nvidia’s most sophisticated AI chips, having been officially announced earlier this year.
