World Police Summit Begins in Dubai, Focusing on Future of Policing

The fourth edition of the World Police Summit officially began today, Tuesday, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The summit is taking place at the Dubai World Trade Centre and will run for three days, concluding on Thursday, 15 May 2025. This year’s event brings together 110 police chiefs and over 300 speakers, including key decision-makers, law enforcement leaders, and technology experts from more than 110 countries.

Organized by the Dubai Police General Command in partnership with DXB LIVE, the World Police Summit 2025 aims to serve as a crucial global platform for law enforcement agencies. The theme for this year’s summit is “Beyond the Badge: Envision the Next Era of Policing.” This theme highlights the need to address the future of policing amidst rapid technological changes, evolving threats, and cross-border crimes. The summit features numerous interactive sessions and specialized conferences involving more than 300 global speakers.

The event emphasizes international collaboration to combat organized crime. Officials from the FBI and other global experts are participating to discuss significant challenges such as human trafficking and child exploitation. Additionally, speakers from the United Kingdom will share their experiences in tackling gang-related crime, underlining the global nature of these pressing issues.

As part of its focus on digital transformation, Major General Khalid Al Razooqi from Dubai Police will present a keynote address on Dubai’s AI strategy. Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cybersecurity for the UAE Government, is set to discuss protective measures for digital systems against increasing threats. A panel will also include experts from the FBI and cybersecurity professionals from Nigeria, highlighting the challenges of cross-border cybercrime.

The summit will address critical issues like money laundering and illicit financing, with insights provided by Dr. Marwan Al Zarouni from Dubai and experts from the police forces of Vietnam and Cyprus. The second day of the summit will focus on strategies for border management and combating smuggling, featuring contributions from senior officials from Canada, Belgium, and Singapore. Furthermore, experts will examine urgent challenges in the fight against narcotics, supported by data from the United Nations on global drug trafficking trends.

The event will conclude with sessions aimed at empowering the next generation of police professionals and promoting the role of women in law enforcement, featuring contributions from senior FBI officials and female security experts worldwide.

The World Police Summit is backed by prominent international organizations, including the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Europol, and the GCC Police Authority. Strategic partners and sponsors, notably Emirates, the official carrier of the summit, highlight a shared commitment to enhancing law enforcement and community safety.
