IndiGo, India’s leading airline, has announced the introduction of new direct flight services linking Abu Dhabi with two prominent cultural cities in India — Visakhapatnam and Bhubaneswar. This initiative aims to enhance international connectivity, providing Indian travellers with more affordable and convenient travel options. The flights between Bhubaneswar and Abu Dhabi will begin on June 12, 2025, operating three times a week. Meanwhile, the Visakhapatnam-Abu Dhabi route will commence on June 13, 2025, running four times a week.

These new direct flights are designed to improve convenience for travellers by expanding access to critical international markets. This expansion supports the increasing demand for both business and leisure travel and reinforces IndiGo’s dedication to seamless connectivity. The new routes will make it easier for passengers travelling to the UAE, enhancing access for business, education, and tourism. As Abu Dhabi continues to develop as a global hub for technical training and tourism, this expansion is expected to bolster cultural exchange and economic growth between India and the UAE.

Mr. Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, stated that the airline is pleased to announce these direct flights, which further enhance its international network. He noted that with the addition of these new routes, IndiGo will operate over 100 weekly flights to Abu Dhabi from 15 cities in India. This development also increases the total number of flights to the UAE to 275 per week from 18 Indian cities. Malhotra emphasized the airline’s commitment to connecting India with global economic centers as demand for direct international travel rises, ensuring timely, affordable, and seamless travel within its expanding network.
