The Sharjah Digital Department, in partnership with Microsoft and INSEAD, organized a specialized training workshop titled “The Era of AI is Here.” This event took place at the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park, with 35 participants from various government and private sector entities in attendance. The workshop targeted department heads and general managers across the emirate to enhance their preparedness for the future through the adoption of artificial intelligence.

According to ZAWYA, H.E. Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Director General of Sharjah Digital Department, said about the importance of this workshop for advancing the emirate’s digital transformation journey. He noted that this initiative represents a significant milestone in creating a government that prioritizes intelligence, data, and insight. As he stated, “This workshop marks a strategic milestone in our pursuit of a government driven by intelligence, data, and insight, where decision-making and service delivery align with the emirate’s future vision.”
The workshop focused on equipping leaders with the necessary knowledge and skills to utilize AI effectively within their institutions. It aimed to improve institutional performance, enhance the quality of government services, and foster innovation in decision-making. Sheikh Saud pointed out that investing in government capabilities in emerging technologies is essential for achieving sustainable excellence and improving the quality of life in the community.
Additionally, the session covered the latest scientific perspectives and practical applications of artificial intelligence, providing a structured framework for its implementation in government work. It also addressed the stages of institutional maturity in adopting AI and the associated challenges and risks. This initiative is part of a broader strategy by the Sharjah Digital Department to lead digital transformation and enhance service delivery across the emirate, aligning with the Government of Sharjah’s vision for a future-ready public sector.
