Dubai FinTech Summit Set for May 2025 with Global Participation

The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) is preparing to host the third edition of the Dubai FinTech Summit on May 12 and 13, 2025, at Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai. This summit, themed “FinTech for All,” will be held under the patronage of Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the First Deputy Ruler of Dubai and President of DIFC. It aims to gather global industry leaders, innovators, and policymakers to discuss the latest trends and insights shaping the FinTech sector.

Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad commented that the Dubai FinTech Summit embodies the vision of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, to establish Dubai as a global financial powerhouse. The event is expected to attract over 8 000 attendees, including 300 speakers from more than 100 countries, alongside more than 1 000 investors and key decision-makers. This underscores Dubai’s vital role in shaping the future of finance and its commitment to supporting FinTech in alignment with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to position Dubai among the top four global financial centers by 2033.

The growth of the fintech sector is noteworthy, with global revenues projected to reach $1.5 trillion by 2030, which would represent about 7 percent of the total financial services market. This growth is largely fueled by advancements in artificial intelligence, blockchain, and digital banking, creating new opportunities for both financial institutions and technology companies worldwide. The Dubai FinTech Summit will address future finance trends, financial innovation, and regulatory compliance while exploring the challenges and opportunities within the sector.

Essa Kazim, Governor of DIFC, emphasized that through the Dubai FinTech Summit, DIFC is showcasing the vast opportunities available for companies in AI, FinTech, and innovation that establish themselves in Dubai. He highlighted the effort to foster an environment of innovation and excellence, reinforcing Dubai’s status as a leading destination for FinTech talent and investment.

The summit will include an exhibition featuring 200 exhibitors, providing a global platform for innovation and partnership. For the first time, the Future Sustainability Forum will be integrated into the Dubai FinTech Summit, aligning with the theme to focus on accessibility, inclusivity, and empowerment in the financial sector.

A distinguished lineup of speakers is expected, including Marko Primorac, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Croatia; Gilles Roth, Minister of Finance of Luxembourg; Timothy Adams, President and CEO of the Institute of International Finance (IIF) in the USA; Tony O Elumelu, Chairman of United Bank for Africa and Founder of the Tony Elumelu Foundation in Nigeria; and Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Founder & CEO of Paytm in India.

The exhibition will also feature start-up and country pavilions, showcasing innovative solutions from both emerging and established players. Additionally, the FinTech World Cup will provide a platform for promising fintech start-ups to present their solutions to investors and venture capitalists, and allow investors to discover the next big idea. The event has garnered support from several partners, including Emirates NBD as the Premium Banking Partner and Commercial Bank of Dubai as the Strategic Banking Partner.
